National Assisted Living Week
National Assisted Living Week was established in 1995 by the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL). This week provides an opportunity for residents, their loved ones, staff, volunteers and communities to recognize the importance of assisted living communities around the country, by shining a light on how important assisted living communities are for America’s seniors and Americans with disabilities.

Visit someone in an assisted living facility.
Whether you’re visiting a family member or friend, visit someone! Whomever you visit will appreciate it more than you think.
Check if the facilities in your community are having any events.
Many assisted living communities will celebrate with an event or with community activities this week, and you can participate! We recommend checking out the facilities’ social media pages, visiting their website or contacting them directly to check out their upcoming events.
Create something special for residents.
Who wouldn’t love getting an encouraging letter from someone in their community? Get your family together and get creative, then drop it off at your local assisted living facility to celebrate National Assisted Living Week!
